Hoosier Newest NEAT Girl?
Last week we hosted the new class of NEAT girls in Chicago for our official launch week training. You've already met four of our new lovely ladies over the past two weeks, but this week you're getting three! First up is Indianapolis. We're thrilled to be relaunching in this great market with Devon Bloxom. We sat down for a quick chat with Devon so you could all get to know her like we do!
NM :: First of all, welcome! We're so glad you're part of the fam. Tell us, what made you want to run NEAT Indy?
DB :: I realized a year or so ago that there is a huge gap in Indy for establishing functional spaces. This was also around the time I had my daughter and as many people know, children have a way of making life far busier than before. I knew that I could assist other busy families to achieve organization that gave them back hours in their day!
NM :: Organization is so necessary for growing families! What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
DB :: My clients can epect a warm and honest professional. I like houses, but I love homes. The families make the home and not all families operate the same way. My team and I will leave you with customized, functional solutions that leave you with more time for the things that are most important – your family!
NM:: We love your family approach to organizing. So, what did you do before running NEAT?
DB :: I have been a corporate and social event planner since graduating with a BS in Marketing and Eventm Management. I still love planning a great gathering and continue to do so as often as I can!
NM :: What a great skill to have? Do you have any other hidden talents we should know?
DB :: I can rattle off very random, but useful, health and nutrition facts. Also, I can throw a pretty good spiral (my husband made me prove this).
NM :: Pretty impressive! What do you think will be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?
DB :: My favorite part of running NEAT in Indianapolis is going to be meeting all of the wonderful Hoosiers. I have lived in many cities, and Indiana has the kindest people I have ever experienced. I'm so excited to make these wonderful people NEAT!
NM :: Speaking of Indianapolis, how long have you lived in the city?
DB :: My husband and I have lived on the Northside of Indianapolis for over three years.
NM :: What have you noticed makes Indy unique?
DB :: While Indianapolis is a city, it has a very unique small town feel. Local businesses and the community they create are the heart of Indianapolis. You truly feel Hoosier hospitality at all times.
NM :: Indy sounds like a dream! What are your favorite places to shop around the city?
DB :: There are SO many local boutiques that I love. For your home, Haus Love. For your kids, Roman & Leo. As for apparel, I love Dottie Couture and 14 Districts.
NM :: What about places to eat? Tell us your favorites.
DB :: Mexican is by far my favorite. My family visits Agave Mexican Grill in Carmel more than I would like to admit. Cafe Patachou is my favorite brunch spot, and you cannot visit Indy without seeing the adorable Cake Bake Shop!
NM :: We always love to ask… what's your most organized space in your home?
DB :: My kitchen is by far the most organized place in my home. My family spends what seems like 90% of our time in the kitchen, which is why I've learned it can also become very chaotic if it's not functional. We also have family that visit often from out of town, so I like to make items as easy to find (and put back) as possible.
NM :: That looks so serene. You must have spaces that aren't that organized, right?
DB :: While I am very proud that I do not have a junk drawer in my house… we have this basket. This basket sits in a cabinet by our garage entry and has become a total catch-all. Change, keys, pens, you name it!
NM :: What are your favorite products to use while organizing?
DB :: I love a good basket – it is a slight addiction. The Water Hyacinth Storage Cubes are one of my favorites. They are perfect for playrooms, offices and mudrooms.
NM :: Is there anything else we need to know?
DB :: I can't wait to make Indy NEAT!
NM :: We can't wait either, thanks Devon!
Watch out Indy! With Devon on the case, no junk drawer is safe!
